I started CFB in July 2016. I wanted to change my body composition and gain muscle. A friend at work did CrossFit, and it sounded like a lot of fun.
I was a gymnast from elementary school until my freshman year in high school. I always worked out, but I mainly did cardio and bodyweight exercises—never weights and never a barbell!
I’ve been dairy-free for 11 years and really changed how I ate in 2020. I am pretty strict with my diet, but I love Italian meals—especially chicken, broccoli, and ziti.
It’s truly my happy place. I love a lot of things about CrossFit, especially the gymnastic components and working on my weaknesses. And, of course, the people!
Goals are one of my favorite things to work on! I want to get a ring muscle-up, become better at handstand walking, and overall get stronger.
I’m pretty boring, LOL. I was a gymnast for a long time, and I also have sewing skills! I picked it up in high school and have done many craft fairs making handmade items like Raggedy Ann dolls, pocketbooks, and clothes for myself. I’ve also made Halloween costumes for my kids. I’ve taken Level I & II Cranial Sacral Therapy courses and a Graston Technique course. I usually just treat myself and my son to help prevent injuries.
CrossFit is my fun, LOL! I’m also an animal lover and spend time training my dog, Ellie, new tricks and commands. We go for long hikes in the woods and practice her skills. I love being outside in nice weather and spending quality time with my family—my daughter Lily (18) and my son Henry (almost 16).
I’m working on improving my endurance for skills like bar muscle-ups, doing bigger sets, and handling higher volumes in a workout. I’m also very proud that I made it to the qualifiers this year—I really enjoyed competing!
